ABSTRACT

This paper builds on research and insights from the NEXUS-funded Johns Hopkins Artificial Intelligence for HOPE convening to analyze the current governance structure of AI in public health across US federal, international, and nongovernmental frameworks. This structural analysis offers clear guidance to policymakers, researchers, and professionals in the AI-health field, promoting the ethical and effective use of AI tools in public health. Focusing on US regulatory frameworks, the paper identifies existing structures and highlights areas where increased regulatory organization or clarity could enhance the adoption and oversight of AI-driven public health solutions.
